Stams Abbey

The top destinations in Tyrol

Tyrol – a country on the Alps, imposing mountain ranges, dark forests and wild valleys. And in the middle, like a blue ribbon, lies the Inn. Threaded on it like pearls: cities, castles and palaces that have been preserved for centuries and shape both the landscape and the people. Living history, where you step, full of testimonies to Tyrol’s eventful past. But Tyrol also has a dynamic side – the country presents itself as young, modern and innovative today. A big adventure playground for everyone who wants to experience something. And always embedded in this overwhelmingly beautiful landscape that is just waiting to be explored.

Landskron ruins

Culture country Carinthia

Carinthia is a beautiful region in southern Austria, which borders on Slovenia and Italy.
It lies between imposing mountain ranges. The Karawanken and the Carnic Alps in the south and the high Tauern and Nockberge in the north. It is also dotted with many small and large alpine lakes. Here you can admire beautiful panoramas that intoxicate the mind and where the view reaches almost endlessly. It is a dream region with a great cultural heritage, with over a thousand years of history and traditions. It is located at the meeting point of three cultural heirs, the Germanic, the Slavic and the Roman. Everywhere you will find the remains of an important past, summarized in a present that is rich in traditions and customs. In northwestern Carinthia we meet the Hohe Tauern National Park, where the Grossglockner stands, the highest mountain in Carinthia. At its feet is the well-known mountain village of Heiligenblut, which is known for its old past and its church from 1253, which forms the backdrop for the Großglockner Glacier.

taste of childhood

Lakes and mountains – taste of childhood – vacation on the mountain. Holidays at the lake Holidays lakes and mountains

Don’t we all like to remember our first vacation? Everything was new, exciting and unknown. The tame and wild animals – up close; the fairytale forests and wild rivers that want to be discovered. Let us remember together: the taste of childhood – a vacation in Carinthia.

On the peaks, high above the world, “above the clouds”, unlimited freedom, being sublime, standing above things. “Back to the roots”, rediscovering originality, farms, cows, hay, meadows, away from the hustle and bustle, industry, Modern, towards tradition, reduced to itself, learning to appreciate the simple things again, the beauty of simplicity, self-chosen reduction. Playing with stones and sticks, romping in the hay, jogging across meadows – nature is a big playground, you just have to let your imagination carry you away.

Advent in Velden

Avvent in Austria 2019

It is often the first snowflakes that announce the end of the year. It’s already the end of November. There are still a few weeks left until Christmas. The time of waiting begins, we are in Advent. The time of the Christmas markets, of quiet and contemplative encounters, begins throughout Austria. Preparations for the big festival. It’s quiet everywhere, people meet at the stalls, listen to the traditional sounds, warm themselves by the open fire or with a cup of hot tea. Saint Nicholas brings fun and joy with the Krampuses in his entourage, these mythological figures with the huge bells, spreading cheerfulness to young and old. The (art) craftsmen of the area exhibit their handicrafts, products of a bygone art and invite the children to learn…

The documentary is a journey through Austria’s most beautiful, traditional and unusual Advent variety.
